Ranchi, Mar 6( PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren on Wednesday expended Rs43.85 crore to2.04 lakh heirs under colorful weal schemes, including an old- age pension programme.
The CM transferred Rs31.64 crore directly to the bank accounts of1.58 lakh heirs under the old- age pension scheme, while around 3,000 people under the' Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana' entered a total quantum of Rs 8 crore. At least 4,500 girls under the' Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana' also advantaged through direct transfer of cash dole.
The state government has lately revised the eligibility criterion by reducing the age limit to 50 times from 60 for pensions for women and people belonging to Scheduled Tribe( ST) and slated estate( SC) communities. In a shot to give the benefit of pension to people above 50 times, the Jharkhand government launched a special crusade from February 20 to February 23. During the crusade, over5.68 lakh operations were submitted, and of which, were shortlisted for the pension benefit. " As numerous as heirs were given Rs31.64 crore as pension for February and March," an functionary said.
Addressing the heirs at Harivansh Tana Bhagat Inner Stadium in Ranchi, Soren said the profitable condition of pastoral people in Jharkhand is" veritably poor". “ The situation of women, tribals and Dalits is more pathetic. In a shot to enhance the quality of widows, the state government has enforced a widow remarriage creation scheme, under which Rs 2 lakh is provisioned to marry a widow. On Wednesday, seven heirs were given Rs 14 lakh, the functionary said. Under a family benefit scheme, as numerous as 736 heirs, who are below the poverty line, were given Rs1.47 crore in cash, he added.
