Lok Sabha choices 2024 Amid strain in ties, AAP and Congress will be holding a seat- sharing meeting on Monday, informed elderly Congress leader Salman Khurshid. AAP's National Secretary Pankaj Kumar Gupta will president the meeting, as per sources.
The relationship between the two parties have hit a gemstone bottom in AAP- ruled Punjab where Congress is the main opposition party. The formerly- strained ties have taken a turn for worse after the arrest of Punjab Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Thursday in connection with a 2015 medicines case. The Congress party had called the move' politically motivated.'
In Punjab, the state unit of the Congress has shown disinclination in fighting together with the ruling AAP. Punjab Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa has formerly rejected the idea of any alliance with AAP in the state.
Expressing his disgruntlement, Punjab Congress principal Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has declared that the party will fight all the 13 seats alone. He further stated that there was no direction from the party high command on any seat- sharing deal in Punjab.
