Eormer England captain Michael Vaughan has called India one of the most underachieving sports  brigades in the world following their heavy defeat against South Africa in the Boxing Day Test.  India had a chance of winning their first ICC  jewel in a decade but despite winning 10 matches on the  witch in the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Men in Blue lost the final against Australia in Ahmedabad last month. "They'ven't won  important in recent times. I  suppose India is one of the most underachieving sports  brigades in the world. They do not win anything, when was the last time they won  commodity? They won then( Australia)  doubly, which was  magnific. But the last many World Mugs, been nowhere. T20 World Cup, nowhere," said Vaughan.  

 He went on to hit out at India's performance in South Africa, saying they do not win anything given the  gift and  coffers at their disposal. India last won an ICC  jewel in 2013, lifting the titleholders jewel under the leadership of MS Dhoni.  " also you go to South Africa, a  platoon which is useful in Test matches, and produce a performance like this.

They  also lost thesemi-finals in the 2016 T20 World Cup before finishing runners- up in the 2017 titleholders jewel.  

They  also lost in thesemi-finals of the 2019 World Cup in England, before being  excluded in the Super 12 stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup. This was followed by asemi-final defeat in the 2022 T20 World Cup and a final loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup.   India also reached the final of the World Test Championship in the first two editions, but lost first against New Zealand and  also against Australia.
